Fashion is definitely a passion we both share, but if we’re being honest neither of us are in our Fall must haves even 50% of the week. Of course, unless that includes my 3-year-old Harvard Sweatshirt from Target with bleach stains. We are most definitely in athletic wear, not for athletics obviously. Athleisure anyone?
Don’t get me wrong, we wish it was for athletics! This weekend we are combining our oldest sweeties birthday with a fun cowgirl/cowboy themed party since they share a birthday month. Speaking of birthday parties, when in the world did they get CRAZY ridiculous?! We celebrate birthdays and love to have fun doing it. But mommas, we have to STOP putting all of this pressure on ourselves to spend several months and a mortgage payment to create a birthday our littles will likely be sleep deprived, sugar high, and too young to care if we tied little bows around every mason jar or not. They should most definitely be a special day, but if we create the party of the century when they are 4 what in the world are we going to do when they are 14? There is no judgment here if that is what you want to, but please do not feel it is a keeping up with Joneses. We wanted to snap a few pics in more of our everyday environment (minus the huge pile of laundry I moved out of the way), and the littles that I totally bribed with suckers just before our eloquent Thursday night dinner fav, Dominos. Our hope with this blog is to be able to share laughs, tears, and REAL LIFE moments with other mommas on this journey we call motherhood. For instance, today was pajama day at MDO for us, well we ended up snoozing the alarm enough that we had dry cheerios for breakfast in the car. Ash and Brice made it to his MDO just after the doors locked and chapel was starting, but thankfully a teacher spotted them desperately outside the doors and came to the rescue. Thursdays around here are usually wild for us anyway, but with the birthday party prep and getting our houses ready for the family it has definitely been a little extra wild. Candy and caffeine for everyone! Motherhood is hard enough, and my prayer is truly that we can build each other up and create a community of women that love their babies and maybe share a little fashion passion. It is time to get real about motherhood and encourage each other in love! Happy Thursday, see you back on Sunday for some fun bday party pics! XO- Roxy
