A few weeks ago, Ashlee of Little Lovelies Blog, reached out about attending a West Texas bloggers brunch in Lubbock hosted by Cafe J. First off, I was beyond thrilled to hear from Ashlee. Not only is she such a talented and an inspirational blogger, but she is from the same small town as I am! Secondly, the excitement of learning from her was HUGE.
Roxy and I started this blog as an outlet, doing something for ourselves. We can get so caught up in being a mom, that we lose ourselves and our identity outside our kiddos along the way. At the same time, we wanted to be an encouragement to a few others! So actually ever becoming a significant blogger, is outside my realm of thinking right now. Being able to hear Ashlee’s story was so encouraging, not only that, she has been so gracious in letting me ask her questions. She has built something amazing in my opinion. Ashlee definitely makes sure I keep my online carts full!
I was so honored to get to hear from all the other bloggers as well. Audrey Stowe’s style is FABULOUS! She truly makes me want to branch out and stop wearing so much grey and black. I am so glad I got to meet Cassie Rea. I love seeing her and her little girl on her Instagram feed! You will want to check out Beauty by Lily blog. I have throughly enjoyed her beauty product suggestions. That is the area I am always trying to figure out! She even has a You Tube channel to help even further. Madelyn of Harvest Mom had her precious baby girl with her! You can see a peek of that sweet girl in our pictures.
When we lived in Dallas, a yummy brunch was on our schedule quite often. There is a few options in Amarillo, but other than Imperial Taproom in Canyon, I do not go out for brunch a whole lot. A girls brunch sounded perfect! Although I almost got blown away on the drive to Lubbock. That is West Texas for you! Cafe J did not disappoint! I enjoyed the vibe and decor, as well as the splendid outdoor patio. My FAVORITE was the food! Oh my goodness, I could not even choose. I had the chicken and waffles, and it was seriously amazing. The mimosas were on point! A HUGE thank you to them for hosting the event. I will hands down be recommending Cafe J.
Ashlee did such a wonderful job having the tables set up, with name tags and goodies! I have worn my Texas Heart Jewelry tie choker several times. Dry shampoo is one of my best friends, so I was thrilled to get some from Moxee Revival. Ashley Jourdonnais of Ashley J Photography took the pictures of us all. Her energy was fun and motivating!
My outfit was planned around my silver skirt. I picked it up the day before the brunch from English Rose Boutique in Amarillo. I twirled around in it several times! The moto jacket and top were from 79/Salt in Canyon. I wear this moto jacket a lot, year round! Any chance I can, I wear my black Zara heels. The brunch was just what this busy mom of two boys needed.
